Modern slavery still exists.

There are 49.6 million people worldwide being exploited like this, and more than 100,000 people in the UK.  

In 2022 the number of people formally identified as victims of modern slavery increased by a third.

Sophisticated Organised Crime Groups traffic victims across borders and within the UK, forcing them to provide sexual services or forced labour.

However this crime cannot be tackled by law enforcement alone, and it’s important for everyone to be aware of the issue and share information if they have concerns about someone.
