I am writing to you to give you prevention advice on keeping vans safe from theft. 

There is a spate of theft from vans in West Lindsey and whilst Lincolnshire Police are responding to this, they are also reminding residents of what you can do to protect yourself from being a victim.  

In addition to the information on the leaflet, it is recommended that a deadlock is secured to sliding van doors to prevent them from being peeled down to allow thieves gaining access. A number of vans with sliding doors have been targeted and this method used. Deadlocks are simple way to provide an additional level of security and will also prevent thieves from attempting to break in.
