Horncastle Town Council is committed to making the recreation space at Prospect Street more attractive and pleasant for residents and visitors to the town and is currently seeking the opinion of what new/improved facilities people would like to see there. The Town Council’s core objectives for this project are: • build an aesthetically pleasing recreation area that fits in harmoniously with its surroundings. • make it suitable for all ages and abilities • attract families • create a facility that allows users room to improve their skills and fitness. • create a safe and inclusive space. • encourage physical outdoor activities for all people, with an emphasis on the young. • create a facility other members of the community would come to visit as spectators.
A consultation survey is being launched on Saturday 5th October at the Town Council surgery and will run until Friday 1st November. People are encouraged to complete the survey which will help the Town Council to ensure that the enhancements that take place are what people want.
The survey can be found on the Town Council website, Town Council Facebook page and here’s the link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q3QCT58. Hard copies of the survey can also be found in the library, Lincolnshire Shine Offices at The Bullring, St Mary’s Church, the Town Council office at The Stanhope Hall, and at the weekly coffee morning held in the community centre.
The Town Council has allocated £50,000 to this project and will be seeking grant funding to try and ensure that as many enhancements can take place so that this area can become a place that the town can be proud of, and an area that people really want to use.
